In late July, we donated our used computer hard drives to help set up a computer lab at the Impact School, a newly established charitable school in a very poor part of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. “Empowering Youth in Cambodia” is a wonderful not-for-profit founded by an American who went to Phnom Penh on holiday, fell in love with the city and never left. Also supporting the cause, KC Dat, a local freight and courier service, packed the hard drives for export with SilkAir agreeing to fly them for free to Phnom Penh.
To complete the computer lab, S$1,000 was needed for 12 second-hand computer screens. Each C&W employee donated $13 to help Impact School reach this goal. The computer lab is now up and running, and hosts multiple classes daily. Thanks to our collective efforts, we have made a small step in helping to give impoverished children the chance of a better future.
